4-Days Hiking & Scrambling

Day 1dayscrambling2_nw1: Rakabat Canyon

We will meet you in Wadi Rum Village at the Rest House at 9:30am, which is 6km after the Visitor Center where you must pay a 5 JD entrance fee per person.

From the rest house, we will park your vehicle in a private gated lot at my guest house in the village and then enjoy traditional Bedouin Tea after which we will begin our journey.

The morning consists of a two-hour trek along an easy Bedouin road, passing through Rakabat Canyon, a narrow gully used by Bedouins to bring their goats to pasture. After descending to Um Ishrin Valley, we will walk across the sand for two hours to visit the Infishnia inscriptions which are over 2000 years old

Then we will stop for lunch under Infashieh Mountain. In the afternoon we will walk through the biggest sand dune in Wadi Rum. We will cross to Um Rashad Canyon and then make our way to our Bedouin camp.*

Rock BridgeDay 2: Burdah Rock Bridge

After breakfast, we will take a twenty minute jeep ride to the base of the Burdah Rock Bridge. There will be a short climb, with ropes for safety, just before the arch. We will enjoy many awe-inspiring views overlooking the whole region while on top of the arch which is the largest in the whole of Wadi Rum.

We then descend via a steep crack or return the way we came, which is an easier option. Once we have descended the Rock Bridge, we will stop in the shade for lunch and Bedouin tea. After lunch we will drive and hike back to the camp, making stops at Um Fruth Rock Bridge and Khaz’ali Canyon.

Jebel HashDay 3: Jebel Hash

After breakfast, we will take a Jeep to Agilan from where we will start our trek up Jebel Hash. After an easy two hours walk up to the summit, you will be rewarded with an awesome view of the deserts and landscapes of Wadi Rum. After the summit we will hike in a different valley on our way back to the jeep.

After lunch, we will drive back to our camp via a different route. You will have the opportunity to select from a variety of short hiking trails, before making our way back to the camp for the evening.

jebel_um_ad_damiDay 4: Jebel Um Ad Dami

On the last day, we will trek for four hours up and down Jebel Um Ad Dami, the highest point in Jordan. The summit offers incredible views of the landscape of Wadi Rum and into Saudi Arabia. After a nice relaxing break followed by yet more Bedouin tea, a Jeep will take us back to the camp via Nomad’s Land and the White Desert. If you would like, there are a few short hiking trails to choose from on our way back to the camp.
